The presence of rare hues makes diamonds particularly valuable. White, colourless diamonds, for example, are classified according to a broad spectrum from D (colourless) to Z (light yellow) – whereby colourless is considered rare and particularly valuable and yellow tones are more common and slightly less valuable. The value of fantastic colour nuances like pink, blue, orange, green or red are determined independently of this spectrum. Instead, they are individually evaluated according to their intensity and alluring depth of colour.
